Barrett’s Esophagus – Masters in Endoscopy Program

Barrett’s Esophagus Diagnosis and Surveillance Video Series

This program is recommended for gastroenterologists and endoscopists to learn about how innovative AI driven molecular testing plays a critical role in identifying Barrett’s Esophagus and to determine a patient’s individual risk of progression from Barrett’s esophagus to cancer. Watch each part of the Barrett’s Esophagus Diagnosis and Surveillance video series by clicking on the images below.

Barrett’s esophagus is the only known precursor to esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). EAC is one of the fastest increasing cancers in incidence in the US and has a five-year survival rate of 19% (American Cancer Society, 2020). Progression to EAC is preventable if high-risk patients are treated with Endoscopic Eradication Therapy (EET), including ablation therapy, to eliminate the Barrett’s tissue.

Topics in this video program include:

  • Part-1 “Current Gaps and Risk Stratification,”
  • Part-2 “Navigating the Hurdles of Evidence-Based Medicine and New Technology: Clinical Guidelines and Beyond”
  • Part-3 “The Value of Tissue Systems Pathology”
  • Part-4 “The Implementation and Patient Care Impact of Tissue Systems Pathology” panel discussion.
